Response to Amanda Petrusich

Something that I geek out over is basketball because I really enjoy watching and playing the game. I like basketball because it’s what I was most successful in during my high school years and I loved running up and down the court getting buckets and winning games. When I was growing up as a kid I was all about football at first. I played football all the time. I was on pop warner teams and it was fun. In the sixth grade I started to play basketball for the first time in my life. At first I was not very good at all but it was really fun to me so I started to practice harder with my coach from little dribblers. He helped me a lot over the years and he made me be a better player. From then on basketball was my favorite sport and my favorite thing to do I played everyday with my friends. We would go to a park that we called “The Slab” and just play all day long until it was night time. We’d do the same thing everyday after school and we started to get better and love it more. I played all four years in high school on varsity where I did better each year I played. My junior year we got third place in district which was enough to move on to the playoffs where we only went two rounds. My senior year we won the District Championship and made playoffs again where we went only two rounds deep again after we choked to a team we should have beat. I still play all the time with my friends at a park or at the rec or even at open gym when they have it and it is still my favorite sport.

Michael Jordan vs Lebron James

The rumor still floats around that some people think Lebron James is better than Michael Jordan. Which is completely not true because there is no way that Lebron is better than Michael in any type of way. Now don’t get me wrong Lebron is a very good player but he is nowhere close to a Michael. I understand at this point and time at the same age their numbers are fairly close together but what yall forget to remember is that Michael Jordan went to college at the University of North Carolina for at least three years. While Lebron James skipped college and went straight to the NBA and got an early head start. Also all six of the finals that Michael has been to he has won also earned the finals MVP in all six of those finals. He was also named the league’s MVP a total of five times in his career which is very impressive.

As for Lebron he has been to the finals seven times in his career so far but he has only won three of the seven finals that he has been to. It seems to me as if Lebron did choke during most of his finals games to end up losing. He did earn himself the finals MVP for all three that he has one in his career. For right now Lebron has won the league’s MVP four times but that is likely to change depending on how much longer Lebron will be in the league. What people also forget is that Michael and Lebron played in two totally different eras. Michael played in a lot tougher era than Lebron did because the refs didn’t call every hard foul a technical like they do now. If Lebron played in that era I guarantee he wouldn’t be doing the things he is doing now because he is a big baby and will cry when something won’t go his way.
